I will be witnessing a city hall (not NYC) wedding and the couple are not planning on having a photographer, but I feel like I should try and get someone to capture the moment for them – my photo skills are not good enough for that! Will they not regret not having any pictures?

Their wedding photo has been hanging in their kitchen ever since I can remember myself; both of them in jeans, dad wearing a leather jacket and holding the marriage certificate, mom in a velvet crop top, both looking elated. They both say it was so fun and exciting, and they’re still so in love with each other. I hope to someday have a love and a marriage as beautiful as the ones they share <3

I’ve choked up reading these comments. It makes me feel like we’re a part of something. Generations of New Yorkers who met, fell in love, and got married in this special way. All of us walking around the city and marveling at the kindness and delight of total strangers.
